List of Churches Attended by IVCF Members
Where you can find IVCF students on Sundays? Check out the places below! With each church, we've listed the names of some IVCF folks who regularly attend and have agreed to be "contact people:" feel free to email them for more information about a church. (Email addresses are @uchicago.edu unless noted)
Service times and locations often change, especially during the summer. Call or email the church (or contact person) before showing up.
Transportation to non-Hyde Park churches: You can take the CTA to most Chicagoland churches, but regular attendance works best via car. Some churches have a van/shuttle that stops in Hyde Park, or have people driving from Hyde Park who can give you a lift.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship
and All Saints Orthodox Church
During your time at the U of C, make sure to attend at least one Eastern
Orthodox service. OCF offers regular Vespers services and arranges trips
to nearby Orthodox churches. One such church is All Saints Orthodox Church,
which a number of IVCF people have attended over the years. (If you haven't
attended Orthodox services before, you may want to read Frederica Mathewes-Green's
article on visiting an Orthodox church.)

11024 S. Bell Ave.
The founding pastor of Morgan Park Baptist Church was Thomas W. Goodspeed, who was also secretary of the Morgan Park Theological Seminary. Goodspeed was the first man to approach John D. Rockefeller about founding a new University in Chicago. In due course, Rockefeller founded the University of Chicago, the Seminary became the Divinity School, and Goodspeed a key Trustee of the new University. Meanwhile, the church he founded is still going strong today, with Bible-oriented worship and a mix of old-style hymns and praise songs. Rudy lives in Hyde Park and is happy to give rides.

Disclaimer: this isn't intended to be a comprehensive list, and just because a church is listed here doesn't mean Intervarsity endorses its beliefs or practices. Go read our doctrinal basis. And when you visit, remember that no church will be "just like home"--consider it an opportunity to stretch that comfort zone.
